REEPS ONE @ ECKO HQ IN NEW YORK CITY.

Back in May of this year my mate Harry AKA Reeps One (UK artist and beat boxer) was invited to a VIP party at the NYC Manhattan office of Mr Marc Ecko. I went with Harry and took this clip of the night's entertainment, harry owned New York that night. Really sorry for the quality of the clip, the place had the lights low so it was hard to get a good image... plus i had a few dinkies and a shady video camera.

abandoned housing estate art

Sited in an abandoned housing estate in London’s Elephant and Castle, Seizure literally transforms the mundane state of 1970s London public housing into a magical, ethereal experience. Hiorns and his assistants pumped 90,000 liters of a heavily saturated copper sulfate solution into one of the units in the estate, then returned almost three weeks later to drain the unit. Once the liquid was removed, what remained was a glistening, glowing unit, lined with Yves Klein Blue crystals, outlining the walls, light fixtures and bathtubs. The project ends on 2 November, after which the estate will be demolisheD.

Modeshifting - David Elsewhere

You gotta hand it to this guy...

If you have never heard the name David "Elsewhere" Bernal, he is what they call an illusionary dancer. He became known through a viral video clip (Often titled Kolla2001) of himself dancing recorded at the Korean-American talent show Kollaboration in 2001.

The clip showcased Bernal's amazing popping locking and body rocking it attracted a lot of attention and soon became very popular on the internet — so popular that in November 2006 the viral marketing company, The Viral Factory, collated page-impression figures from websites such as YouTube and Google Videos. They determined that, as of November 2006, this video had been viewed over 200 million times, making it the 8th most viewed video.

Bernal was later hired to participate in advertisements for Heineken (dancing to "Cobrastyle" by the Teddybears), Volkswagen, iPod, 7-Eleven Slurpee, Pepsi and Doritos. He also made a cameo appearance in the movie You Got Served and TV performances including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Computer graphics technology were used in several of the commercials Bernal took part in, superimposing others' faces (old, young, male, female) onto his body so that they appeared to dance like him. In one of the most popular, in Jan 2005 for the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Gene Kelly's head was superimposed onto Bernal's body in a re-enactment of "Singin' in the Rain".

Hi latest collab is with London agency POKE for Motorola.

UFO SIGHTING IN BERN???

I do love the above film close encounters and my dad claims he saw a ufo one morning driving along a country road to work, however an event that was witnessed with 2 of my friends the other week has got me really thinking
Ok,so there we were... the 3 of us on my roof admiring the view across Bern city in Switzerland. It was 11.45pm a clear Friday night...all i can say is we are not sure what we saw...but 3 objects/lights were hovering in the distance, the lights changing colour slowly then 2 more flew up to the others in a non plane or ballon like way so that they then were all together in a zig zag then line formation. The lights on the objects changed colour yellow, blue, green then red. I quickly scrambled back off the roof into the appartment to get my camera when i got back out 3 lights had moved off leaving the other 2 to follow behind. Seriously it was not a plane, helicopter or fireworks...the flight pattern was not that of any aircraft.
really weird, weird, weird.
and then even more weird i also found this swiss ufo clip on you tube filmed in 1993 the objects in this appear to move and look identical to what we saw... It really makes you think what is going on that we don't know about.mmmmmm.

my footage...

and some footage i found, clear image towards the end of the clip...

Shit we were serious back in the day.

Okay. So this isn't really art.
It's just me and Arab and twenty years later.
Back in the day we didn't have a care in the world. Every weekend my mum would drop us down at the ramp and we'd hang out there all day. Amusing ourselves, hurting ourselves but generally staying out of trouble. It was only a mini ramp and it was a good ten miles away but as long as we could get there that was all we needed.

So why then do we look so f**king miserable?

The second shot was taken 20 years later. After experiencing school, college, umptine jobs, women, alcohol, drugs and cigarettes... to name a few things.

At first I thought it was strange that in the second picture we should have the weight of the world on our shoulders but actually, now I think about it, maybe life does get better as you get older.

Peace,
